Tom McBride (guitar) and Mal Tornay (percussion & vocals) are the founders of the Shed Your Blues Band. It all started back in 1992 with Tom rounding up some musicians for a jam in a big shed next to the Russian River in Cloverdale. In those days, there were no gigs, just a bunch of fun loving musicians getting together to stretch their chops. Rob Harris (keyboards & backup vocals) has been a regular Shed Head since almost the beginning. As the music and set list grew and matured, we began playing for local wineries, clubs, parties, and civic events. We have had many great local musicians join us with keyboards, guitars, bass guitars, drums, percussion, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, flutes, and even violin. Over the last few years the band has really hit their stride with the full-time addition of Ray Engle (bass and backup vocals) and Mike Morris (drums). These two seasoned musicians have anchored the Shed Your Blues rhythm section resulting in a sound that folks can't sit still to! The band has established a following in Sonoma County by performing at benefits for local clubs and organizations, at public events, park concerts, birthdays, weddings, bar mitzfahs, New Years Eve parties, night clubs, and casual events.
